Getting a tribal tattoo is something that shouldn’t be rushed into because it may turn out that you end up hating the tattoo. It is important to be totally happy with the design before you get inked. Tribal tattoos, believe it or not, have been around for thousands of years, used by many tribes as identification. In 1991 Otzi the Iceman, a 5300 year old preserved body was found in a glacier in the Otztal Alps on the border of Italy and Austria. Amazingly Otzi had 57 tattoos on his body consisting of dots and lines. Tattoos have been adopted by tribes all over the world and even in gangs where they are used to show membership and the person’s history including convictions.
